Acceptable or Desensitized?
Is There a Price We Are Paying?
It's an age-old controversy of “Boys Will Be Boys.” Society has become desensitized to what is acceptable and what is not. As parents, we want children who are well mannered, not obnoxious, and who respect others. You work hard at it and should be proud of your efforts. But the fact is, the schools have our children seven to nine hours per day—sometimes longer. Boys need to feel empowered. Because of their competitive nature, high energy, and need for accomplishments or “fixing things,” we designed our program to draw out the God-given needs that motivate their behaviors. Whether boys are outgoing or loners, this program draws out their potential to feel they have control of their lives and will be rewarded by friends, family, peers, and society for making choices that are accepted by our society.
Energetic, developmentally appropriate exercises for boys will challenge every participant regardless of age. They will complete the program with a sense of accomplishment and motivation to continue implementing the skills they learn. There will be laughter and friendships gained. Each student receives take-home “Tips and Tools,” supplies, and upon completion of all four courses a “Certificate of Etiquette Excellence” will be awarded. Course I–III are 90 minutes. Course IV finale is 2 ½ hours in length. For Grades 6 – 10.

Excellence:
A Goal Worth Pursuing
As a young girl I recall being told many times, “If you are going to do something, at least do it right!” This admonition was applied to every chore--dusting, washing dishes. I was learning the value of excellence as I performed each task. But doing things well did not mean they had to be done with perfection--only my best effort with the knowledge I had. Society should be ashamed of the perfection messages drilled into the minds of our youth. Parents should be honored for their efforts to accept their child for who he or she is--but can we ever have too many skills to provide our child with the best edge? In this program, young women learn self-worth, confidence, self-evaluation, impact of their image, and how to move from feeling like a child to desiring and welcoming their growth into womanhood. Each participant will arrive as one person and blossom into another.
Lessons are taught using visual aids, music, discussion, and a positive approach to taking responsibility for yourself. Each student receives take-home “Tips and Tools,” supplies, and an “Excellence in Etiquette Certificate” upon completion of all four courses. Course I–III are 90 minutes. Course IV finale is 2 ½ hours in length. For grades 6-10.
